Melon

Melon refers to the various plants of the Cucurbitaceae family which have edible, fleshy fruit. The exterior skin can be smooth, netted / not netted, striped or without stripes; and have a green, yellow or grey color. The fruit can be round or elongated. The internal flesh is juicy, sweet and aromatic and has a red, orange or yellow color.

Different kinds of melons are more common in different countries; some are grown for export as well. Melons are usually cultivated under open field conditions, but may be grown in greenhouses and other protected structures as well.
